Flinders Street Station is Melbourne's most iconic landmarks, at the centre of Melbourne.
The unique station building extends from Swanston Street to Elizabeth Street, spanning two city blocks, and was designed and built with the intention of providing space for public and commercial use.
However, in the last thirty years, one third of the station building has become unmaintained and derelict and has since fallen behind modern building safety standards - despite the heritage value of the building and its key location in the CBD.
The Depot of Creative Industry is a group of Melbournians who want to open up the building's discarded spaces and see them utilused by Melbourne's art and design community with a mix of non profit and commercial tenants for a sustainable solution.
